How about this for Bias…

May 23, 2007 in It's All Right

There’s no liberal bias in the press.

 Ha!

I glanced down at yesterday’s Washington Post and see this headline:

Immigration Compromise Faces New Opposition

Proposal Stays Alive, But Foes Lie in Wait

Do I even need to pick this apart? Alright, just a little…

The very first word, “Immigration” gives an air of legitimacy. This is not about immigration. This is about people knowingly and deliberately breaking the law, violating our borders and residing illegally in the US.  Not to mention all the illegal activities that inevitably follow like fake ID’s, assuming Social Security numbers, and tax evasion to name a few.

“Compromise.” Sure, there are some Republicans and some Democrats involved with crafting this piece of garbage. But this is no compromise. This is Ted Kennedy and a couple Republican hacks like Arlen Specter, who should be dispatched from office as soon as the next election permits.

The best part about this utterly biased piece is “…But Foes Lie in Wait.”

COME ON!

What exactly does “lie in wait” represent? What typically does this? A snake will lie in wait. An alligator will lie in wait. Any beast who is about to pounce on prey will lie in wait. So too, according to Jonathen Weisman, will Conservatives waiting to pounce on the kind and gentle compromisers.

The article isn’t nearly as bad as the headline, but it still lays the blame of the fate of this bill at the hands of Conservatives. And it never identifies the bill for what it is: Christmas in May for illegal aliens.

Simplicity

May 21, 2007 in It's All Right

Jimmy Buffett said it best when he said, “…and it was so simple like the Jitter Bug it plum evaded me.”

Immigration is a simple problem.  The political hacks on the left AND on the right are making it out to be some colossal, multi-faceted problem.  Not so.  Here is the solution to the illegal immigration problem: Secure the borders.  Done.  See?  Simple, eh?

I don’t care how - use our well-regulated militia, build a fence, build a wall, fly drones, use laser beams…I don’t care!

Someone want to tell me what securing the border has to do with 12 million illegal aliens who are already here?  I would argue that one has nothing to do with the other.  Yes, one problem is a result of the other.  But why do we need “comprehensive reform” right now?  I for one, could care less about the 12 million illegals - for now.  My first concern is to secure the borders.  Then, and only then, should we start thinking about how deal with the illegal alien problem.

And another thing… the illegal alien problem has been framed all wrong.  We should be thinking about how to prevent the 12 million from sapping our national resources.  How to keep them from using services designed and paid for by American citizens.  Instead, the kooks on the left and the spineless jellyfish on the right are trying to find ways to allow illegals access to our national coffers.  Unbelieveable.

We have to unite in booting out of office every Republican that has shamefully sided with Ted Kennedy on this as well as any politician who has uttered the words “comprehensive plan.”  If GWB wasn’t out anyway in 09, this would be aimed at him too.  While this covers soe Republicans, it covers almost ALL democrats - they are even worse.

Secure the borders.  Prevent illegals from using our tax dollars.  Simple.

What They Stand For

May 16, 2007 in It's All Right

The Republican debate last night was a mere blip on the radar screen.  For the talking heads, Election 08 is in full swing.  For normal Americans, it is only May 2007 and we are interested in more pressing issues; building businesses, spring landscaping, getting the kids through the school year, etc.

Interestingly, even at this early date each candidate seems to have latched on to a pet issue.  For Giuliani, it’s terrorism; for Tancredo, it’s immigration; for McCain it’s restricting free speech and partnering with Ted Kennedy.

Single issues aside, none of the candidates are focusing on the right topic.  Although each is a self-professed “Reagan Conservative” they are far, far off the mark.  I wish one of the candidates would frame their positions in terms of freedom.  After all, that is the fundamental that drives everything we do.

Taxes: We should be FREE from the heavy handed, non-producing government, which imposes draconian taxes on it’s most productive citizens and leaves non-productive citizens alone.

War on Terror:  Every bullet fired and wire tap issued serves to secure our FREEDOM from those who would kill or oppress us.

Religion: Progressives, liberals and socialists would have all religion stripped out of anything remotely observable by the public eye.  They seem to forget all about “…the FREE exercise thereof.”

Abortion:  All men are born FREE, but before that you can kill them at will.

Immigration: FREEDOM means being able to protect your property and the collective right of Americans to protect the sovereign United States.

Gun Control: The very name of this issue says it all.  Americans are FREE to own guns.  This freedom is expressly guaranteed in our constitution.  History shows us that the very first thing a despot does in rising to power is to disarm the public.  (See Stalin, Mussolini, and Hitler for reference.)

Virtually every single aspect of American politics can be boiled down to the cause of FREEDOM.  It is telling that almost without exception, leftist “freedom” includes dependancy on government.  That’s not freedom at all, that it tyranny.  It would be most helpful if our group of ten condidates would choose this as their agenda item, instead of some sound bite that may get talk time from the aforementioned heads.
