In the most ego-centric, self-serving, spineless political move of the year, Arlen Specter switched sides and became a Democrat yesterday. Good Riddance. This is exactly what conservatives need; to purge our Congress of Republicans who sacrifice their ideals and political philosophy, to the extent that that had any to begin with, for positions of increasing power and influence. Arlen Specter has been a liberal since day one. In my opinion, he ran as a Republican because it was easier for him to gain election in the first place. Now, he has come full circle – because he is trailing 20+ points in the Republican primary, he decides to run as a dem.
This is precisely the type of career politician that wreaks havoc on our Republic. This behavior is what has stalled the Republican Party. This is what we must seek and destroy. This pernicious element of American politics – putting personal political gain above the needs of the country – is what we must eliminate from the Republican Party entirely.
The conservative movement is on the march. We are not looking to gain a few seats in 2010, we are looking to sweep the elections, but not with the likes of Arlen Specter. We are going to purge the GOP of this cancer called RINO that has been growing. Those on our list:
- Olympia Snowe
- Susan Collins
- Gordon Smith
- George Voinovich
- Chuck Hagel
There are many, many more, but these are at the top of the list and in our political cross hairs. Make no mistake – conservatives are fed up with these knuckleheads and we want them out of office. Not only are we going to work tirelessly to vote liberal Democrats out of office, we’re going to work tirelessly to vote these liberal Republicans out of office. Let this be their warning – conservatives are coming for their seats.
Let’s not stop there. We must go after every liberal Republican we can find in every state and local political office. We will not stand for subtle incrementalism in the manner liberals came to power. Instead, conservatives are going to clean house. Every last politician from every office high and low, we are coming for you. Sherriff’s, school board members, county supervisors, state legislators – all of them.
Arlen Specter’s defection is a welcome event. He has helped us begin our purge. While it is a good start, there is more work to be done.
Goodbye, Arlen. Don’t let the door hit your %&$ on the way out.
