What The Founders Would Have Said

Declaration of IndependenceIf our founding fathers were alive today, what might they say about our government?

What list of charges might they level against our government?

Here, we recreate a modern Declaration of Independence, borrowing from our founding fathers. Note that we refer to the government as “It.” The government has long ceased to be a representative body, duly elected to serve the People and the Republic and as such, should not be referred to as anything but the monolithic instrument of tyranny that it is.

2011 Declaration of Independence:

When a long train of abuses and usurpations render the Constitution effectively useless, and the individuals in power seek only to sustain and increase their authority, it becomes necessary to take sweeping action to defeat the despots and restore the United States of America to the Constitutional Republic is was founded to be. To that end, the People must use what is left of the democratic process to eliminate those individuals from public office who promote the destruction of the Republic.

The federal government has taken numerous actions, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

It has ignored the limits of power stipulated in the Constitution.

It has abused the power of taxation.

It has violated the Constitution by prohibiting free speech.

It has prohibited the free exercise of religion.

It has infringed upon our right to keep and bear arms.

It has allowed the courts to create laws in violation of the Constitution.

It has repeatedly coerced, compelled and bribed the various States to forgo their rights granted by the ninth and tenth Amendment.

It has violated Article I Section 8 by misappropriating Trillions of dollars.

It has proved incapable of managing the national finances by deficit spending.

It has used the power of appropriations to secure and maintain power and influence.

It controls and coerces private companies through over-bearing regulation and threat of fines and imprisonment.

It operates in secret hiding its grievous violations of public trust.

It uses unelected bureaucrats to create and enforce extra-constitutional laws.

It misleads and lies to the People through career politician demagoguery.

It creates discontent by forcing only half the People to pay income taxes.

It uses illegitimate gerrymandering to maintain political power.

It has, on numerous occasions, seized private property and resold it for the sole purpose of increasing tax revenue.

It has circumvented legitimate governmental processes through the use of executive order.

It has repeatedly used the military forces in an illegitimate manner and scope.

It has created laws that favor one group of citizens at the detriment of others.

It has used bureaucratic regulation to artificially manipulate capital markets.

It has exchanged legislative policy making for campaign contributions.

It has allocated federal funds for purposes known to be outside the scope of the Constitution.

It has passed laws compelling the People to engage in contracts with one another, even against their will.

It has failed to secure and defend our national borders.

It has given aid and comfort to illegal aliens and failed to even treat them as illegal.

It has provided enemy combatants rights reserved for American citizens.

It has passed laws without regard to legislative content and without reading or understanding the legislation.

It has aided and abetted the murder of millions of unborn children.

It has willingly and purposefully violated and offended virtually every article, section and amendment set forth in the Constitution.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated trust in various politicians has been answered only by repeated injury. A government whose character is thus marked by every act which may be defined by tyranny  is unfit to serve the needs of a free people.

We must democratically remove those who have so corrupted the Republic and replace them with suitable men, and then begin the reconstruction of our nation to a form God intended.
