I was listening to the Chris Plante Show yesterday morning on WMAL AM 630 in Washington DC and he was talking about this clown from Indiana, Barron Hill (D - 9th). Apparently, Hill does not think that the people he serves have any say in how he runs his congressional office. News flash: they do! This guy seems to forget that he works FOR the people who elected him to represent them.
So here is Hill telling a college student that she can’t video tape the Town Hall meeting…
And here is the link to my conversation with Chris Plante…
At least the leftists have not implemented the Fairness Doctrine and I still have the freedom to call into a radio program. If the leftists have their way, that freedom will go away…
I can’t take it. These politicians think we are fools. The arrogance! In a fit of frustration, I once again ensured my inability to ever seek public office. Then again, maybe after the Conservative Revolution of 2010 people like me will be able to march right into public office by telling it like it is. Our country would be so lucky.
This is my lambasting of Senator Warner after his idiotic response to a previous letter…
Dear Sir,
You recently replied to one of my written messages or phone calls, I am not sure which you were specifically responding to. I am writing to tell you that your response was just more of the same political doublespeak that will ensure that I put great effort into voting you out of office, as well as any other supporters of this Health Care monstrosity. To point, here are some of your comments, which apparently take me for a fool…
You said, “While many are concerned about our Federal deficit, most do not realize that the primary cause of our deficit is the increasing per-person costs of Medicare and Medicaid; by 2017, Medicare will be insolvent.”
This is your biggest reason to enact a 2000 page bill and entrust the government with even more? Oh! Are you serious? You admit in the above that the federal government is the CAUSE of the problem, you fool. Now you want me to sign off of two and a half TRILLION more dollars for you to squander? Did you forget that the Democrat Congress and the Obama administration have jacked up the debt by a TRILLION DOLLARS in 9 months! THAT is the source of the problem. Silly me, and here I thought the biggest reason for the deficit was out of control politicians. Wait, that’s exactly what you’re saying, isn’t it? That out of control politicians have recklessly and carelessly spent more money than we can even fathom? At least you’re honest about the source of the problem, but then you act as if you didn’t have anything to do with it!
You said, “American families also suffer from the rising costs of health care: within the next decade, premiums will consume 40 percent of an average American family’s income.”
Could it be that because the aforementioned Medicare and Medicaid only reimburse doctors for a small fraction of what they are owed, doctors must make up the difference in increased charges? Or could it be because the GOVERNMENT restricts how many insurance companies can operate in each State? Of course, it is both of these things. It is YOUR fault! And again, you ask me to trust YOU to fix this, when you so clearly are the cause of the problem?
You said, “…the coverage must be cost-effective and based upon data-driven medical standards.”
And what, pray tell, are these data points? Are they costs? Are they treatment success percentages? And who is going to determine these “data-driven standards?” You? The same government who has bankrupted Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and put our country $12 Trillion in debt? I don’t want you, or anybody else making ANY decisions about my health care except my doctor and me. And I will be damned if those decisions are based on “data-driven standards!” They are based on what my doctor and I decide!
Your email fiends sincerity and thoughtfulness, but it betrays your condescending arrogance. You are the problem. Government is the problem. You ruined Medicare. You ruined Medicaid. You ruined Social Security. You bloated our federal debt. And now you have the audacity to tell me that if I pony up another trillion dollars, you can solve the problem?
And another thing, you even lie about the costs. It is not $1 trillion - that only covers 6-7 years of costs. Over 10 years it actually costs some $2.5 Trillion. Yet, in common fashion, you have such disdain for us and think citizens so stupid, you think we can’t figure out your shell game? You start taxing us immediately and don’t provide services until year 4. We are on to your politically driven lies and maneuvering and we will rally against it!
This is a disgrace. That you would support ANY part of it speaks volumes about your character. I am talking about your PERSONAL character. If you were an honorable person, you would recognize how destructive this is to our Republic and try to put a stop to it. I won’t hold my breath.
I have been psycho-dialing the Senate since last Friday, unable to get through. The switchboard has been completely backed up. So, I decided to write. I used to be cordial when writing to Congressmen and Senators, but no longer. These people are destroying us. They have to know how we really feel. The following went to Jim Webb with a cc to Mark Warner. So….here it is…
Dear Sir,
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the Health Care Bill currently under consideration in the Senate.
If you vote “yes” for this bill, I want you to understand exactly what that will mean to me and my family.
If you vote yes, I will make it a top priority to make sure not only are you not re-elected, but I will use all of my energy, resources and influence to make sure that no Democrat is elected to office in Virginia.
I will use Twitter, Facebook, blogging, I will call people, I will write letters, I will do EVERYthing I can think of to (lawfully) prevent any Democrat from getting elected in Virginia, starting with you. Also understand that I have never been politically active before now.
This Bill is an abomination. It raises taxes. It creates massive bureaucracy. It takes away individual choices. It sets the stage for further erosion of our rights. It will bankrupt the country. It is the most disgusting assault on the USA I can imagine.
My family has 9 voting age members. I can tell you with absolute confidence, my family and I are going to not just rally votes against you, but also against every Democrat running in every elected office. From County officials, to state Representatives, to our Congressmen and Senators.
I just want you to understand that by supporting this bill you will not be just putting yourself in political jeopardy, we will take it out on all of you - every Democrat in every office.
I would further ask that you please go home tonight and read the Constitution. If after doing so, so still think that this piece of legislative excrement is even remotely constitutional, then there is no helping you. If you come to that conclusion, you are either criminally negligent, or a complete moron.
With $12 Trillion in debt, $14 Trillion on the horizon, and Obama, Pelosi and Reid proposing nothing but more spending and taxes, one can’t help by wonder: Are they actively trying to destroy the country and our individual livelihood, or are they just complete idiots?
The Republicans still don’t get it. In a recent Reuters story, Mitch McConnell, who we generally like, said:
“The public is saying to all of us: ‘Quit passing 1,000-page bills (and) concentrate on trying to improve the economy.’”
The problem here is tha he is missing the point entirely. He is on the right track, but he still doesn’t get it. I had to set him straight - with any luck, he’ll listen. Here is the letter I just sent him:
Dear Sir,
I just read a Reuters piece that quoted you as saying, “The public is saying to all of us: ‘Quit passing 1,000-page bills (and) concentrate on trying to improve the economy.’”
With all due respect, Sir - that is not what we are saying. We (the people) want the government to get out of the business of trying to “fix” the economy.
I know I am not a career politician, and I only have a BA from a mediocre state school in Virginia, but even I can tell you how the economy will improve: Get government out of our lives.
I could fix the economy in 2 weeks. Freeze all spending and then cut all government programs by 30% - across the board except for military spending. Cut tax rates by 25% across the board. Cut capital gains taxes by 15%. Eliminate the FED.
That’s it. The economy would EXPLODE.
“Oh, but George, that is not realistic,” you say.
But ask yourself this - do you think it would work?
Of course it would.
The shame is that you politicians are so corrupted, so blinded by the power you wield, you cannot fathom something as radical as STOPPING.
While you are a man I respect, I fear that you are mistaken with what you think “the people” want. We don’t want the government to “fix” anything. You have proven time and time again that your (the government) ability to fix anything is nonexistent. The government has made a shambles of our country. You are to blame.
