The blogoshere is boiling over with fantastic commentary and information about government, politics and liberty. Here are a couple of items that are must read quick hits…

Over at Emerging Corruption there is a fantastic piece by James Simpson. In this interview with Allen West, you’ll get a glimpse into the mind of one of the most potent speakers coming out of the conservative movement. Allen West is the real deal. Here is another view of Allen West – this video is 6 minutes you can’t miss:

We all know that organized labor is a big problem. Not so much the industrial unions as the public employee unions. The Conservative Hideout 2.0 has a very good piece on the apparent connection between anti-semitism and organized labor.

Here is a fitting tribute to 9/11 – this was posted up on DRScoundrels – a site I have come to like very much. This is by Brett Maynard and is very well done:

It’s been nine years since it happened
but my memories of that day are still clear
As I recall the smoke and the ashes
I fill with rage and I shed a tear
I remember every single detail
of the events that took place that day
I lost nearly 3,000 brothers and sisters
and it still hurts more than I can say
I was promised that I’d gain resolve
but even now, I wait for it still
there is no closure to help me forget
and I vow that I never will
you may call me intolerant or bigot
and yes, that is your right
but I know that I am not alone
there are plenty still willing to fight
We will never back down
We’ll face fear but we won’t cower
our hearts were broken, not our spirit
and faith in God gives us power
Some of our bravest were lost
our firefighters and police
to those that are responsible,
may you never know any peace
Even now my fists are clenching
while at the same time I grieve
unless they conquer all of us
we will grant them no reprieve
they say the wounds should be healed
that we need to just let go
to those that feel that way
Let me tell you flat out “NO!!”
Vengeance is Mine saith the Lord
perhaps I sin by wanting revenge
so I ask you all to pray for me
until my fellow Americans are avenged

LEST WE FORGET 9-11-01

My friend LD Jackson posted this provocative piece about Sarah Palin. It is a great read and the comments tell a very interesting story about how Palin is perceived by in-the-trenches conservatives. Jackson continues with a follow up piece that is also noteworthy. I’m with him on most of this – I don’t think Palin is the right woman for a 2012 presidential run. I do think she has a place though – perhaps in the RNC.

The always insightful Tabitha Hale also has a piece about Sarah Palin, but from a different angle. It’s no secret that Palin gets the left all wound up. I don’t recall a demonization of a person like this since Newt Gingrich was force feeding dog food on the elderly back in 1995. Palin Rattles Feminists is a good read for any conservative, and especially for conservative women.

Let’s not forget about the Arizona law – Eric Holder, US Clown General is still filing lawsuits and trying to bully Arizona. Now Mexico jumps into the fray. Makes me wonder – do these people think they are actually helping relations? This just turns me against Mexico. Oh well…

Oh Health Care! This Obamacare disaster is the tyrannical gift that keeps on giving. First, watch Obama talk about how it will reduce costs to Americans and reduce the deficit – see 1:38 – 2:20 for his specific claims on cost reduction:

But what actually happened? Well, first there is the lie that Obama was telling all along, which Paul Ryan so artfully called him on. And now, after its passage, we find out that costs are actually going to skyrocket and the deficits are expanding as far as the eye can see. What is Obama’s reaction? He’s going to try and strong arm health insurance companies into keeping prices from going up, even in the face of increased costs. Mark my words: Obama will use this to try and overtly take over the entire health insurance industry He’ll say, “See, they can’t be trusted!” and make a move on them. You heard it here first.

Finally, we have the 9/12 rally this weekend. Everybody who cares about freedom and liberty should get downtown for this historic event. Don’t miss it!

There is a palpable feeling of movement. Conservatives – true conservatives – are on the march. If the level of spastic fervor liberals displayed in responding to the Tea Parties is any indication, we have hit our mark. The trick now is to twist the blade until the beast of ever-encroaching tyranny (liberalism) is dead and cold.

We are more motivated than ever. Political motivation is difficult for conservatives as it conflicts with our very nature. You see, we conservatives are unlike the left in a few key aspects. The biggest is perhaps that we spend an inordinate amount of time being productive.

Not that liberals can’t produce, they can. It is the nature of the production that so distinguishes them from conservatives. Liberals produce things like social theory, signs, and slogans. They are adept at organizing events, petitioning, calling Congressmen, and whining about whatever the cause du jour happens to be. As all this unfolds, the conservative observes it from afar as tedious liberal background noise. Since the conservative is trying to produce not for idealism, but for personal responsibility, family and God, there is little time left to organize and complain en masse the way we see liberals do so well and so often.

Simply put, we’re too busy striving for acheivement to be bothered with politics and public policy.

Until now.

Liberals have gone too far. We conservatives were quite content to sit back and make our living and take care of our respective families, while the liberals were busy supporting the Iraqi shoe thrower and trying to remove the Ten Commandments from county courthouses the country over. But when the liberals went too far; when they began affecting our very ability to acheive, they have awakened a spirit and motivation unlike anything that I blieve they were prepared for.

Stand back, cause here we come.
